How to reach Locate Flock
Use the form on this page: it goes straight to the team.
What to write about
- A camera pin that is wrong or missing
- Say where the camera is (an address, a crossing or coordinates) and what is wrong. The fastest fix is to correct it in OpenStreetMap yourself, as described below.
- A mistake on a page or in a guide
- Give the address of the page and say what it should say instead. A source helps.
- Using the data or downloads
- Questions about the files, the method behind a figure, or how to credit the data.
- Press or research
- Tell us what you are working on and when you need an answer.
- Something else
- Anything that does not fit the topics above.
How a wrong pin gets fixed
The pins are OpenStreetMap’s, not ours, so the best fix is made there. Open the camera on the map, follow the link to its OpenStreetMap entry, and correct it, or delete it if the camera is gone. Your edit shows up here after the next refresh of the data, which runs once a week. The steps are set out under corrections.
If you would rather not edit the map, pick the topic about a wrong or missing pin in the form, and tell us what you saw and where.
Send a message
The form passes your message on as an email and keeps no copy. The privacy page explains what happens to a message you send.
What we cannot help with
We do not run any cameras and we hold no plate records or footage, so we cannot look anything up or have a camera taken down. Questions about a particular camera go to whoever runs it.
